READ BRENT’S OWN WORDS:
“When I was very young, I had one almost debilitating fear. Russia. Not monsters or ghosts or even spiders. I was scared of Russia. Looking back, I guess I could blame the pop culture of the 80’s. Even at a young age, I decided that this fear was unjustified and I wanted to get over it. So, I decided that I was going to change. I made up my mind that I would someday visit Russia. Whenever the subject of Russia came up in the news (which was often in the late 80’s) I told my parents “I’m going there someday!” A few years later, when I was 16, my wise parents discovered a way to send me to Russia, on a youth tour cruising the Volga River. This amazing opportunity allowed me to confront my irrational fears and helped me grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. My eyes were opened to the good in the world. I was able to travel on a cruise with a group of people who created the most authentic and life-changing program of Americans meeting Russians. This event literally changed my life – and now I’m headed back…to Russia. Those same people are joining with me again to help make this happen for you.
I believe that this cruise will be extremely beneficial for everybody. In a world filled with imagined fears and uncertainty, I invite you to have your eyes and hearts opened to the good that can come from the unfamiliar. Come see the world through another lens, and grow to love more of God’s children. My goal is to make this cruise informative and spiritual. I want you to have an experience you will never forget. I know this cruise will help you grow, as it did for me.”
AND MEALS ARE INCLUDED
All other cruises charge for some or all daily tours. Not so with Heart of Russia Cruises - the tours each day are included as are the on-ship meals. Because the Bolshoi is closed during summer months, our evening entertainment features amazing professionals from the Bolshoi. A variety of classical and folk music and dance keep audiences spell bound every evening on the ship.
UNIQUE "COUNSELOR" GUIDES
Another amazing feature of these cruises is that we tour with personal guides assigned to groups of 12 travelers. These guides are our personal escorts and help us meet the Russians on board and in villages, as well as a orient us to the ship, our cabin and programs, help us shop in markets, learn basic Russian words, discover the history, culture and folklore of Russia and just about anything we might need to enjoy this adventure. These guides are fluent in English and a brilliant component to a personal tour experience.
VIP TREATMENT - call 435. 775-2225
Mark and Elizabeth Stoddard and Eric Stoddard know Russia well and have taken 30,000 people on cruises there. When you call 435. 775-2225, they will personally answer your questions and secure your place on this grand adventure.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL
As you will read on the main page of this site these cruises also include opportunities along the route unheard of on other cruises or tours. We will have an opportunity for service at an orphanage, hospital or school, depending on the needs that are identified as our trip comes closer. Past tours have included gifts for orphans, a new roof for an orphanage, gifts for a children's hospital, visits with pensioners, and they even bought a Soviet artillery piece, melted it down and cast it into bells. Those bells were the first bells restored to Russian churches where the Soviets had melted the bells to make cannons.
You are welcome to come early and stay late with private tours that can be arranged by Boris Leostrin, owner of St. Petersburg Tours and another "graduate" of the Stoddards' school of business in the 1990's on the same tour I was on! Boris will custom design your tour to fit your time, interests and budget. Click HERE to go to "Extention Tours" on the bar at the top of this page to contact Boris.
